In dentistry, prosthesisgenerally means the DENTURES, by which the tooth substance are simulated as naturally as possible. The modern prosthesis at T7 in Berlin offers a wealth of possibilities and techniques, with which perfectly sitting dentures can be produced. We have extensive experience with large dental restorations and will gladly advise you in detail if a prosthetic restoration is at your disposal.

When people have to accept the loss of one tooth or several teeth, this means, in addition to the aesthetic impairment, FUNCTIONAL PROBLEMS with possible effects on the dental health. If a tooth is missing, the affected person can not only perceive it as disturbing, but it can also significantly affect life. In addition, the absence of teeth is also not well perceived in everyday life, in the work and private life of fellow human beings.

A WELL-MAINTAINED TEETH are now part of everyday life. Carious teeth and tooth gaps are a sign of lack of care and gnaw at self-confidence. Prosthetics can help here to restore both function and aesthetics. In this way, the patient receives a dental prosthesis, which is no longer distinguishable from natural teeth and thus contributes to the well-being and self-assurance during the occurrence. As prosthetics experts in Berlin, we are contributing our part.

A distinction is  generally made between fixed dentures, removable dentures and a combination of both. While the first variant is fixed directly in the jaw, the second is the so-called prosthesis: dentures, which can be used and removed by the patient independently. In the third variant, we combine the advantages of the fixed prosthesis with the flexibility of removable elements (implant prosthesis). All three types have in common that they need a GOOD CARE and PERIODIC CONTROL to be able to fulfill their function permanently and reliably. In the following list, we present you with the most common forms of dentures, which we offer in our practice within the scope of prosthetics in Berlin.

  • Crowns
A crown is a type of attachment or cover for the tooth that restores the original condition or the original shape. It envelops the rest of the tooth completely, which, for example, requires a crown for preservation and stability after a major caries treatment or root canal treatment.
  • Partial crowns
In the case of a partial crown, the tooth is only partially sheathed, or a partial region of the tooth crown is stabilized. Thisis accompanied by the redesign of the occlusal surface.
  • Bridges
A bridge is used to close a tooth gap when a healthy tooth substance is still present. To do this, the neighboring teeth are scraped over them. The gap closure is made by a bridge link between the abutment teeth.
  • Inlays
In the case of an inlay, the tooth is only partially replaced, whereby the bumps are retained and not the entire occlusal surface has to be replaced. Inlays are made after a tooth impression in the dental laboratory and then fitted.

In the case of fixed dentures, we usually rely on tooth-colored ceramic restorations but also on gold and other non-precious metals. We work exclusively with MASTER LABS in Berlin and the UNIVERSITY LAB in Göttingen. This way, we guarantee the highest degree of accuracy and longevity of the dentures.

  • Full prosthesis
In a full prosthesis, the entire row of teeth of a jaw is replaced. It can be used when no implants are desired or possible.
  • Model casting prosthesis (partial prosthesis)
In the case of model cast prostheses, there are still separate teeth, so that no complete series of teeth is necessary. A partial prosthesis is performed using braces on natural teeth.
  • Telescope denture (partial prosthesis)
If only a few teeth are present, a telescoping prosthesis can be the solution. The existing teeth are crowned with an inner crown on which the telescoping prosthesis is placed with a suitable outer part. The advantage is that no aesthetic impairment occurs against a stapling prosthesis and the chewing comfort is better.
  • Attachment works (partial prosthesis)
An attachment works consists of a fixed part and a removable part. The attachment attaches to the fixed teeth and serves as a retaining element for the removable part, to which the missing teeth are attached.

In implant dentistry, we use IMPLANTS as the basis for dentures. In contrast to the methods mentioned above, however, both existing teeth are spared (no grinding or ablation of substance) as well as fixed artificial teeth are possible, which allow the patient a higher wearing comfort. We also combine implants with super constructions (removable dentures) and single implant teeth. This type of prosthetic restoration is very permanent, but also requires a very thorough dental care.
