ENDODONTICS deals with the treatment of inflamed tooth roots. If the tooth mark, also called the pulp, is highly inflamed or already dead, in most cases only a ROOT CANAL TREATMENT can help.

In doing so, the pulp must be completely removed and the resulting hollow space must be sealed with a filling in a bacteria-tight manner.

INFLAMMATION OF THE TOOTHMARK is characterized by various symptoms, including pain when biting, unpleasant pressure sensations, or pain due to pronounced warm-cold sensitivity. If the patient experiences severe pain in a cold test, it is highly probable that the pulp is inflamed.

A root canal treatment is offered in many dental practices. The success prospects for this procedure are high, but require special care and technique of the dentist administering the treatment. In the case of T7, we use a ZEISS MAGNIFYING GLASS, which is particularly suitable for root canal treatment. In this way, we safely and reliably record all root canals that are present in the diseased tooth. The aim of the treatment is to completely remove the inflamed tooth mark, mechanically expand the root canals to remove bacterial residues at the canal walls, and then close them with a BACTERIA SEALING TORQUE.

First, we open the tooth by drilling up to the root canal inlets. These are probed with the magnifying glasses and released. In the most important step, the working length of the canals is determined: The narrowest point near the root tip must be reached and extended. With a fine mechanic, machine tools, we work from the crown to the root tip, clean and expand the canals. Through several rinses during treatment, we remove removed material and disinfect the canal at the same time. Finally, the root canals are tightly sealed using a filling of gutta-percha, a rubber-like compound.

At T7, we attach great importance to modern dental technology. Our devices provide patients with a root canal treatment with a value that is expressed as follows:

  • Automatic preparation of the root canals
Saves time and is more precise
  • Electronic measurement of working length
Guarantees full tissue removal to the root tip
  • Germ Disinfection by laser
    More safety when killing bacteria

We recommend these options to our patients, even if their health insurance company does not cover them. The benefit for an optimal result is, however, greater, because with the complete removal of the tissue no inflammation can develop anymore. Thus the prognosis for the maintenance of the diseased tooth is very good.

If the tooth is already severely damaged by the inflammation or the tooth material is too destroyed, only the extraction remains. A deadly or inflamed tooth marks, an inflammation below the tooth roots, or a cyst formation near the crown are, on the other hand, indications in which root canal treatment makes sense and the natural tooth can be preserved.
